Date Night ... a Dark Vixen!

Whether its a night out with your favourite girlfriend, a night to reconnect with your hubby, or dinner with the guy that you've been head over heels in lust with for the past three months, everyone needs a date night dress!   

This is mine from last weekend's dinner and cocktails with two of my greatest friends.  This little beauty is the Long Sleeve Bardot Midi Bodycon Dress from ASOS.  It costs just £22 and as far as simple, black jersey dresses go you won't find much better. 

I'm a huge fan of a bardot neckline so this dress really ticks the box on that front.  My choice in lingerie didn't allow me to go strapless but I think I can pull of the bra straps on show! This was especially useful later in the night when we hit the dance floor with a bunch of undergraduate students (we were definitely the oldest in the club). 

I ordered the size 18 and it is generous due to the stretchy nature of the dress.  The dress fits me very well over all but the waist gapes on me - but it's nothing a cute belt couldn't fix ...

The belt is also from ASOS and costs £20.  

I love the metallic gold against the dark black - and it really helps to accentuate those positives.  The large fit me very well.  

The dress is a good length but may be more of a midi skirt on people who are more petite.  I'm 5ft10 and the dress skimmed my knee nicely.   I paired the dress with my favourite red lipstick and some amazing shoes which can currently be found here for a measly £13.
