Sparkles & Pleather - Plus Size Attire from House of Fraser*

For me, the Christmas season is time for pretty dress, faux fur, and plenty of sparkles.  My wardrobe, if you haven't already gathered, is packed full of pretty party dresses and my usual go-to little black dresses.

But, occasionally, there are parties that don't require a formal gown but something a little more laid back.  I'm talking sat drinking mulled wine in front of the fire in gastro pub.  You want some sparkle and some luxury without the full on  ball gown.   This top from House of Frasers plus size line, Label Lab, is just perfect for these occasions.

The Label Lab Plus size tribal beaded woven top is made from a sheer mesh fabric with a geometric tribal print embellished with small silver beads.  It is a simple boxy cut with cap sleeves and a key hole back.

It's a great top, the kind that can be thrown on when you want to have a bit of pow with minimum effort.

I paired the top with burgundy pleather leggings from Next and my go to Carvela heels.  My right leg is rather dead at the moment so the ankle strap of the heels gives a little more support to keep my ankle straight when walking in heels - it a great tip for anyone who isn't normally comfortable wearing heels.

I'm in love with my burgundy leggings, even if they do match my hair colour, and have been wearing them a lot recently.  They are made from quite a heavy material that means I'm comfortable wearing them as trousers and they sit mid waist without slipping down when I'm moving - I definitely recommend them!

The top is very sheer and would look great, if going to a club or a wine bar, without a camisole beneath.  I however, due to my feeling the cold and wanting to be modest enough for a simple pub, have chose to wear a simple black camisole beneath.  It would also work with a nude camisole if you wanted the illusion of not earing anything beneath but wanted the extra layer for warmth or modesty.

I've kept my hair simple with just a pin behind my left ear to hold it back and show off my amazing ear cuff!

The top does comes up quite small, I'm wearing a size 22 and it fits me perfectly.  For reference, I'm normally a size 16-18 so definitely size up if you want to retain the boxy feel. I would also prefer the top to be a fraction longer in length but I am 5ft10 so I imagine it would sit longer on a shorter frame.

The top is priced at a rather steep £49 so this is by no means a cheap option for nights out.  That said, it is well made and easy to wear.  The material isn't the itchy stick mesh that many tops like this are made of so it's very light and comfortable to wear.  It's also classic and not likely to go out of fashion!

The top comes in size 18 - 26 but it would  be nice to see House of Fraser extend this range to cater for more of the plus size market, especially as it comes up quite small.
