Lady Voluptuous ...

If you haven't already heard about the amazing new clothing line from Lady V London, Lady Voluptuous, then you've living under a shell!  The blogging world has gone crazy over the three wonderful dresses designed by the amazing Georgia Horne of Fuller Figure Bust.

The reviews have been stellar so, naturally, I couldn't resist!

To be a cliche .... if looks could kill, then this Medusa in Oxblood will have you in a coffin with the priest saying his Hail Mary's in second!

I bought this dress in a size 18 but probably should have bought the 16.  The stretch of the material is enough to allow my usually problematic hips to wiggle into the skirt and the bust area is also rather generous - there certainly aren't any of those nasty compression problems when I zip up the back!  When I order the royal blue version of this dress, cause I need this in another colour, I'll be sizing down.

The picture below, without the belt, shows how the dress is a wee bit roomy around my waist.

What I love most about this dress, is the neckline.  It hints at décolletage in the way seen on old 50s movie stars and the soft, sweetheart shape is super flattering on those with a larger chest.

The sleeves are also fantastic and not too tight across my over developed forearms ... it's rare that this is the case.

From the side, you can see that this dress hugs in all the right places.  My tummy is skimmed and my ass looks, to be vain, great! I am wearing a smoothing slip but that I do feel that this dress does most of the work for you - I certainly didn't need the excessive layers of shapewear that I normally wear with a fitted dress!

I feel the 16 would give me an amazing va-va-voom shape for wearing out in the evening but the 18 is just right to make this dress versatile enough to wear both in the evening and to work.

In fact, this dress, paired with my boxy Hobbs jacket, is perfect for those days in the office when I really need to lift my confidence, feel fantastic, and slaughter those suits in the meeting room!

Priced at just £40, I cannot recommend this dress enough!  It's well made, a great shape, and an amazing colour.  The quality feels similar to those of The Pretty Dress Company which retail at twice the price (and stop at a silly small size).  As I said before, the sizing is generous so if you're between sizes then I suggest you drop to the smaller size.

The range comes in sizes 16-32 and has sold out fast!  They've restocked but I'd suggest being quick if you don't want to miss out!

I cannot wait to find a reason to wear this dress out on an evening - I'll style it with nude legs, killer courts and gold belt to cinch in my waist.  I'll also be wearing my hair up to show off that 50s décolletage.

  5. Hot damn lady! This dress is totally killer, you're right. I'm in love with my Lyra, but am still considering this naughty little temptress Medusa but concerned about tummy issues. Hmmm...
